The Jewish Virtual Library (JVL) (Jewish Virtual Library) was founded by the (AICE) is a nonprofit organization , non-governmental US-Israel intended to strengthen ties between the two states and to assist in the understanding of history and Jewish culture ^{The Jewish Encyclopedia}

The Jewish Virtual Library is the Jewish Encyclopedia, on line, the most comprehensive to date. It covers all topics ranging from anti-Semitism to Zionism. It has more than 13,000 articles and 6,000 photographs and maps available online.

Organization

The library consists of 13 departments: history, women, the Holocaust , travel, Israel and the United States, maps, politics, biographies, Israel, Religion, Judaic Treasures of the Library of Congress , key statistics and references. Each turn is divided into subcategories. Religion in the department are, for example the full text of Tanakh , information on Jewish holidays and articles on relations between Jews, Christians and Muslims. The department policy includes collections relating to American-Israeli relations, the United Nations and the Israeli-Palestinian. The reference section offers a bibliography of over 1,000 books and 1,000 web sites and a glossary of over 1000 words and a chronology of the history of Judaism.
