Jean-Toussaint Desanti is a philosopher of mathematics French, born 8 October 1914 at Ajaccio and died on 20 January 2002. His principal work is The Idalits mathematics, epistemological research on the development of the theory of functions of real variables (1968). He also stands by his research on the phenomenology.

Biography
Jean-Toussaint Desanti was formed by Jean Cavailles the philosophy of mathematics. He joined the Resistance in the fall of 1940. It binds with Jean-Paul Sartre and Andre Malraux , then joined the Communist Party illegal from 1943. He believed then that "proletarian science today is the real science and modern Philosophy
- He has given numerous interviews where he explains his design philosophy. For him, a philosopher is a "gambler", that is to say, he must call into play his knowledge, his ideas, every time, playing all out like a poker player.
- Desanti distinguished himself in the field of phenomenology. In the Introduction to phenomenology (Gallimard, 1976, originally published under the title of Phenomenology and praxis, in 1958, the Social Publishing), he proposes an original reflection on the phenomenology of Husserl and the central concept of ego.
