Jean Pierre Torrell

Jean-Pierre Torrell, born in 1927 , is a Dominican French , theologian and expert on the work of Thomas Aquinas.

Biography

Jean-Pierre Torrell received his doctorate in theology at the Dominican Faculties Saulchoir of Paris. He then specialized in medieval studies at the University of Montreal. He has taught fundamental theology and ecclesiology in the Dominican Studium Toulouse , then at the Pontifical Gregorian University ( Rome ) and St. Michael's College in Toronto before being appointed professor of ecclesiology and Christology in the Faculty of Theology of the University of Fribourg ( Switzerland ).

Former member of the Leonine Commission for the critical edition of the work of Thomas Aquinas, Jean-Pierre Torrell is one of the most renowned specialists. He has published extensively on this work, in particular the Summa Theologica , which he translated, annotated, annotated, analyzed. He has also published several volumes of excerpts by themes of reflection. He is the author of the Encyclopedia: Jesus Christ St. Thomas Aquinas to Editions du Cerf.
