Jean Marie Mayeur
Jean-Marie Mayeur is a historian French born in 1933. He was the widower of Franoise Mayeur.
He is professor emeritus of modern history at the University of Paris IV-Sorbonne. Specialist of religious history , its work is devoted especially to the Christian Democrats and Social Catholicism. He was also devoted to political history and French at the issue of secularism.
In addition to having directed and participated in numerous collective Mayeur was the co-director of a vast project of writing a dictionary of world religions in contemporary France (1985-2000). To this sum added yet his stories of political life under the Third Republic.
