Career in Orders
- 29 June 1912 : Ordained a priest of the Society of Priests of Saint Sulpice
- 19 May 1945 : Appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Strasbourg
- 29 August 1945 : Appointed bishop of Strasbourg
- 25 March 1962 : Appointed Archbishop of Strasbourg as an individual
- 30 December 1966 : Admitted to retire
- 13 February 1981 : Death in Strasbourg on the day of his 93 years.
