Jean Flori

Jean Flori, born April 7 1936 at Lillebonne , is a historian, medievalist French.

State Doctor of Arts and Humanities ( Panthon - Sorbonne , 1981 ), research director at CNRS , Centre for Higher Studies of Medieval Civilization of Poitiers , specialist ^eleventh and ^twelfth centuries and centuries of warring ideologies ( chivalry , crusade , holy war , jihad , eschatology ). Disciple of Georges Duby , it is a specialist in chivalry to which he devoted his thesis defended in state 1981.
