Jean Delumeau
Delumeau Jean, born 18 June 1923 in Nantes , is a historian French specialist of Christianity , especially the period of the Renaissance.

Biography
Alumnus of the Ecole Normale Superieure (Class 1943), professor of history , a member of the French School of Rome and Doctor of Letters, he taught history at the Polytechnic School at the University of Rennes II at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes and the University of Paris I.
He taught at the College de France , where he served from 1975 to 1994 the chair of "History of religious attitudes in the West, modern "
His books have been translated into many languages (Japanese, Portuguese, Czech, Romanian, Hungarian, Italian).
Finally, he is a member of the committee sponsoring the French Coalition for the Decade for the Culture of Peace and Nonviolence.
