Daujat Jean ( Paris , 27 October 1906 - 31 May 1998 ) is a French philosopher neo-Thomism , a disciple of Jacques Maritain , founder of the Center for Religious Studies , specializing in teaching Christian doctrine.

Daujat John was born on 27 October 1906 , in Paris to parents non-practicing believers. Instructed by his mother until the fifth level, he entered the Lycee Pasteur in 1918, fourth class. He obtained a BA in philosophy, with honors in mathematics and elementary with honors.

In September 1923, he entered into higher mathematics at the Lyce Janson-de-Sailly where he made a first mole, it will have a second high school in St. Louis that will allow it to enter the Ecole Normale Superieure in section Science. Meanwhile, his former high school biology teacher Pastor Jules Lefevre directs it to the philosophy of Saint Thomas Aquinas that he discovered through the study of Jacques Maritain ; Jules Lefevre then inform him Amedee Yvignac who had founded the French Gazette, which was subtitled "organ of Christian politics." In 1931, Jean Daujat began teaching himself during the Centre of Religious Studies , supported by Cardinal Verdier. In 1933 he founded the monthly magazine which published guidelines until 1939. In addition to its own articles and those of Yvonne Estienne, there were authors prestigious Father Garrigou-Lagrange, Mgt Ghika, Father Lallement, Maritain, Henri Gheon , Charles Du Bos , Stanislas broth , Robert of Harcourt, Gustave Thibon , Henriette Charasson, Olivier Lacombe, Merleau-Ponty and Jacques Madaule. During the first year of philosophy was published in 1974 under the title Is there a truth? And the second year in 1970 with the title The Christian social order. After the war, his teaching was to affect thousands of students. He writes in several magazines like The New Man or The Catholic France. He published over thirty books some of which will be translated into several languages, such as Grace and we Christians demanded by Daniel-Rops , director of collection Fayard and translated into seven languages including Japanese.

It continues along a piece of history and philosophy of science. In December 1946 he defended a thesis on the history of science on the theory of electric and magnetic phenomena before a jury that includes such Gaston Bachelard and Louis de Broglie. He published two books on the philosophy of science: Modern Physics and traditional philosophy, the work of intelligence in physics.

Facing the Communist threat of war after he published a booklet showing bright perversion of it, about communism, which will be sold to hundreds of thousands of copies will be asked numerous conferences on this subject. He published his last book in 1996, ninety years, the inner side of history, from its origins to today, where he developed a deep and original thought.

He died May 31, 1998.
