Jean Bastaire

Bastaire Jean (born 1927 ) is a Christian intellectual, author of numerous books.

His thinking affects politics and morality , the theology and poetry. He is a specialist Charles Pguy and Paul Claudel.

He was a friend of Cardinal Henri de Lubac and Edmond Michelet.

Between 1950 to 1975 , he wrote in the journal Esprit.

In the 1960s, under the influence of his wife Helena doctor, he converted to environmentalism. Since then, he campaigned actively for a Christian ecology which would involve a revival of the Franciscan. He is nicknamed one of the last Popes Greens.
