Jean Arnold De Clermont
Jean-Arnold de Clermont (Paris, October 22, 1941) is a French pastor. He was Chairman of the Protestant Federation of France , from 1 July 1999 to June 30, 2007, and President of the Conference of European Churches from 2003 to 2009.
Biography
Jean-Arnold de Clement was born in Paris on 22 October 1941 in an old Protestant family. In 1967 , Jean-Arnold de Clermont became pastor of the Reformed Church of France (FRA).
He participated in Bangui ( Central African Republic ) to serve the Protestant Church of Christ the King for four years. Involved in the youth sector, he established the Centre Protestant Youth of Bangui. Meanwhile, the World Council of Churches (WCC) the burden of Mission to the Sudanese refugees in Central African Republic.
Upon his return to France in 1972 , he served as secretary to the animation -Service Protestant de Mission DEFAP , until 1978. From 1977 to 1983 , he chairs the department of information-communication FPS. (Communication Services for Churches and Protestant associations members FPS ). In addition to her duties within the FPS, it is pastor of the Reformed Church of Rouen from 1978 to 1985. In 1985 he was elected president of the Regional North Normandy of the ERF. There is also a member from 1978 to 1994 of the training team's permanent diocese of Rouen.
In 1994 , he became pastor of the parish of the Holy Spirit Street Roquepine to Paris. On 20 March 1999 , he was elected Chairman of the FPS which he joined in 1984. Ninth president of the Protestant Federation of France , the Rev. Jean-Arnold de Clermont takes office on 1 July 1999. He finished his 2nd term of 4 years on 30 June 2007. He was also chairman of the Conference of European Churches from 2003 to 2009.

- Since 1992 , he participated in dialogue with the Anglican Churches of the British Isles, established by the Standing Committee on Lutheran-Reformed (CPLR). (The CPLR includes four Lutheran and Reformed churches of France from the inside and Alsace-Moselle).
- 1999 , he was already the FPS at the Symposium on the churches and the war in the Balkans, organized by the World Council of Churches (WCC) and the Conference of European Churches (CEC).
- He is a member of the committee sponsoring the French Coalition for the Decade for the Culture of Peace and Nonviolence.
Family
Jean Arnold de Clermont is the grand-son of Jacques Guerlain, leader of the perfume company Guerlain for many years married Andree Bouffet (1884-1965), daughter of the prefect Bouffet Gabriel.
