Jacques D'Alphe
Jacques, son of Alpheus, the Greek , is among the apostles of Jesus. It is also called Jacques the minor, as opposed to another apostle of Zebedee Jacques Jacques said the major, older brother of the Apostle John. Feast on May 1 in the West and the Oct. 9 in the East.
It is often likened to a character in the West that the East considered a third Jacques du Nouveau Testament , Jacques the Just , brother of Jesus.
He is the son of Alpheus , a name translated from Greek Alphaios, the Aramaic Alpay himself sometimes identified with Cleopas (qelopa of Aramaic, Greek Kleopatros transposition), which is much discussed. According to the Gospel of Mark (2.14), Matthew (Apostle) would also be a son of Alpheus.
