Jacob Lauterbach Zallel

Jacob Zallel Lauterbach is an intellectual Jewish American twentieth century ( one thousand eight hundred and seventy-three - in 1942 ), specializing in literature midrashic and Talmudic.
Member of the Hebrew Union College , he also composed responsible for the movement of American Reform Judaism.
He gained notoriety after the publication of his critical edition and translation into English of the Mekhilta DeRabbie Ishmael.

Life and work

Jacob Z. Lauterbach was first and foremost a Talmudic scholar ). It also signed 17 articles in the encyclopedia Otzar Yisrael Hebrew (listed in the book A bibliography of The Writing of Jacob Z. Lauterbach, Walter E. Rothman).

Among his publications include:
