Israel Hayom is a free daily Israeli. It is his second run of the three major Israeli newspapers before Maariv and Haaretz.
Israel Hayom owned by Sheldon Adelson . The editor is Amos Regev, formerly of Yediot Aharonot and Maariv.
At the Knesset in May 2010 there is a debate about the Act Adelson, a law that prohibits the circulation of a newspaper for free over a year. Nimrodi, the owner of Maariv, has met with MPs to tell them to support this law, otherwise he warns Maariv may seal . The proposal was rejected on 30 MMAI 2010 by the Interministerial Commission on Legislation.
