Interglacial
An interglacial period is a period between ice ages , during which average temperatures are relatively high. The current interglacial period is the Holocene , lasting from the late Pleistocene there are about 11 400 years.

During the 2 million years of the Pleistocene glaciations or significant advances of the ice in North America and Europe occurred at intervals of about 40 000-100 000 years. These glacial periods were separated by interglacial periods.
During interglacial periods, the climate warms and the tundra back to the North. Repopulate the forest land previously covered with tundra vegetation type. The ice advanced and retreated several times during the last Ice Age , which lasted from 75 000 to 12 000 years BP.
Interglacial periods are important to the prehistory and anthropologists who use them as benchmarks for relative dating of prehistoric tools and fossils of hominids.
