Founded in 1969, the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse is a public institution of higher education under the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research. This is one of four national institutes French polytechnic with those of Grenoble ( INP Grenoble ), to Nancy ( INPL ) and Bordeaux ( IPB ).

Introduction

INP Toulouse enjoys an exceptional scientific and cultural crossroads of the North South East and West Europe.

With more than 600 regional players in the industry, research, training, but also from government, and the socio-economic INP participates actively in the center of aeronautics, space and embedded systems, the cluster competitiveness cancer bio-health, and Agrobiople.

The INPT has three main missions:

• The initial training of engineers,
• Continuing education,
• Research and technology transfer for businesses.

Locally INP Toulouse is a founding member of the NEAR University of Toulouse.

Initial training

The engineering schools that make up the INPT are six in number:

• National School of Electrical, electronics, computers, hydraulics and Telecommunications (ENSEEIHT)
• Ecole Nationale Suprieure Agronomique de Toulouse (ENSAT)
• National School of Engineers in chemical arts and technology (ENSIACET)
• National Engineering School of Tarbes (ENIT) - School attached
• National School of Meteorology (NPE) - School attached
• Engineering School of Purpan (EIP) - School attached .

  Research

  Research at the INPT is characterized by:

  • 20 laboratories of quality recognized by major research organizations ( CNRS , INRA ) and the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research,
  • a strong partnership with the socio-economic
  • ongoing support thematic multidisciplinary
  • participation in major national technology operations (networks, incubators, start-ups)
  • an offer of 10 inter-institutional doctoral schools that generate a flow of more than 100 theses INPT / year
  • accompaniment of the doctors of the INPT through the Department of Education Professions Research,
  • sINPThse, the site of the Confederation of doctoral INPT

  About 850 researchers from the INPT (lecturers, researchers from large organizations, PhD) are grouped in laboratories associated with CNRS , with the INRA , the Ministries and other universities in Toulouse.
