Independent Evangelical Reformed Churches

Reformed churches are churches "confessional."

Summary

Origin

Following the XXXSynod General of the Reformed Church of France met in 1872 and 1873, and the adoption by it of a confession of faith, only the majority Synodal attached to it. It brings together the "general synods unofficial" until the separation of Church and State in 1905 , then formed the Union of Reformed Churches Gospel , first in number of churches from the breakup of the former national church bankruptcy.

Negotiations for a "Restoration of Unity Reformed" did not give satisfaction to some of the Evangelical Reformed Church. Notably, the text of the new Statement of Faith of the Reformed Church of France , and especially its "liturgical preamble, feeding fears about the possibility of preaching liberal in the new Union, sealed in 1938.

The minority of the Evangelical Reformed Church, including "brigades Gardonnenque, remaining faithful to the Statement of Faith of 1872, then formed a new National Union of Evangelical Reformed Churches of France, who had added the qualifier independent (although ' US RF has abandoned the old name).

Implementation

Evangelical Reformed churches were established mainly in the south of France and a little Ile de France.
