Ibn Rushd Al Gadd
Ibn Rushd Jad El (ancestor) so called to distinguish him from his little son El Hafid Ibn Rushd, Averroes.
Ibn Rushd Al Jad, born in 1072 (450 AH), is one of the important figures of Fiqh Maliki and 'Aqida Acharite Andalusia. He served mainly in the reign of Ibn Tachfine founder of the dynasty Mourabitoun, the position of Supreme Judge (El Kadi Koudat). He was responsible for numerous diplomatic missions. However, he preferred to withdraw from the city's affairs and devote himself to studying, writing and teaching of fiqh. The most illustrious of his pupils was the Qadi Iyad 's book author Chiffah.
Ibn Rushd Jad El left a major work in the Maliki fiqh (or el bayan el kitab tahssil and El Mouquadimate. He died in 520 AH, and the same month of the birth of his little son Averroes. (Sources Ibn Abdel Malik el Mourakicchi; El dhal oua el Takmil; untranslated)
