Ibn Marwan
Abd'Al Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn Marwan Ibn Yunus Al Djillq (born in Merida , who died in 889 ) is a descendant of a family of muwallads (Roman or Visigoth , converted to Islam ) of Al-Andalus. While he is a senior official in Cordoba , he is a victim of the comments that offended. We are now in a context of multiple ethnic rebellions: Arab , Berber , muwallads, Mozarabic , Slavic ...
He then left the capital, and gathers around him other muwallads unhappy. At their head, Galician (his family is originally from Galicia ), "Al Djillq" in Arabic, founded the city of Badajoz (875), which will be a refuge where established entire populations of muwallads, including those of Mrida (city then controlled by a clan Berber).
But the revolt against Al Djillq central government will end after reconciliation with the Emir Abd Allah. Emir which the Galician ask for help by sending planners able to build the city according to Islamic norms by establishing public baths, and a large mosque in particular.
