Ibn Hisham

Ibn Hisham or more rarely Abu `Abd al-Malik ibn Hisham ) is a genealogist and Arabic grammarian.

Summary

Biography

Ibn Hisham was born in Basra , he studied Hadith at Kufa in Iraq and then moved to Egypt. It is known to have reworked the first "biography of the prophet Muhammad called Sira , written by Ibn Ishaq. This biography is known as the Biography of the Messenger of God, Muhammad bin Abd Allah or the biography of the Prophet or due to Ibn Hisham, Biography .

He also wrote a history of ancient South Arabia Kitab al-Tijan.
