Historical Books Of The Old Testament

In Christianity, the historical books of the Old Testament correspond to a subset of the Books of the Old Testament.

Protestants generally divide the Old Testament into four parts:

• the Pentateuch ,
• historical books,
• the poetic books ,
• the prophets themselves divided into:
  • first prophets or great prophets ,
  • Minor Prophets.

The historical books include:

• the book of Joshua ,
• the book of Judges ,
• the book of Ruth ,
• the first book of Samuel ,
• the second book of Samuel ,
• the first book of Kings ,
• the second book of Kings ,
• the first book of Chronicles ,
• the second book of Chronicles ,
• the book of Ezra ,
• the book of Nehemiah ,
• the book of Esther.
