Hermann Samuel Reimarus
Hermann Samuel Reimarus ( one thousand six hundred ninety-four - in 1768 ) is a writer and philosopher in Germany.
He is the son and collaborator of Johann Albert Fabricius. Beating the Hebrew and other Oriental languages, and is known for his Deism deep, consistent with the requirements of pure rationality. He rejected the miracles and mysteries with the exception of the Creation , and defends truth as natural the existence of a God kind and wise, and the immortality of the soul.
His work, entitled Von dem Zwecke Jesu und seine Jnger (The Purpose of Jesus and his followers), published by Lessing in 1778 , sparked a real controversy because it offered an image of Jesus Christ distinct from that described in the Gospels. Indeed, he claimed that Jesus was a revolutionary Jew.
