Gabbai

The Gabbai is a man involved in the synagogue and more about what is happening and that is really what differentiates it from the shamash. Indeed, the shamash deals more technical affairs of the synagogue as the events taking place in the synagogue or the vital needs of the synagogue as cleaning (by intermediary in general), electricity, water, and also the financial needs of the synagogue. The Gabbai, for example cons deal to appoint a 'Hazzan or a reader of the Torah , and then raise the faithful to the Torah.
