Funeral
The funeral and burial is a funeral rite practiced in most cultures, consisting mainly to burial of the corpse or coffin containing the soil or in a vault built into the ground. It is practiced in the days immediately following the death with the participation of parents, friends and relations of the deceased, after certain rites in a place of worship or outside, in a general public, the cemetery , according to the ritual of religion the deceased.
In France , the term is ordinarily used for burial funeral , the funeral itself being called burial.
Once the coffin or corpse down the pit bottom is filled and the area is managed as the grave , according to the habits and patterns in use locally.
A second funeral is sometimes practiced as a result of exhumation for ritual purposes ( Italy ) or judicial ( autopsy ).
In France , in many parishes , for certain until the late eighteenth century , burial was made in the very soil of the church , despite the lack of space, frequency of epidemics , and therefore repeated bans due to health risks for the faithful attending Mass and other offices. Burials in the cemetery had a less sacred, and were the fate of foreigners in the community or the parishioners whose piety or virtue was certainly not a model. The cemetery itself all the places were not equivalent to practice burial, the grave is the place regarded as the least, as its name suggests, the deceased individual private tomb was just placed among those who had preceded him and with the bones removed from graves.
Ritual
The burial of the dead is a practice as old as humanity, and took place in a sort of reflex. It helps protect teeth from the corpse carnivores , insects carrion and beak of certain birds, and limiting the spread of diseases or pathogens. Children can imitate with serious local custom of burying the remains of small animals.
