First Alliance

In Christianity , called Old Testament Alliance ^{Original texts from the history Deuteronomistic}

First, it is important to remember that the Bible is the heritage of the Jewish people. For the first Christian communities, the ones writing Paul , the Bible is only what Christians call the Old Testament or "Alliance" or "First Alliance". It is called the Tanakh , an abbreviation of the Hebrew name of the books that comprise: Torah (the Act), Neviim (the Prophets ), Ketuvim ( Canon of the Old Testament

It is difficult to determine the point at which the Old Testament Canon was formed by Christians. In ^the second century , the Church of Rome decided to reject the heresy of Marcion, who claimed to delete any reference to Old Testament writings. It was only later that the Canon of the Christian Bible was formed, including the Old Testament Canon of the Hebrew Bible.

The plan of the Canon of the Old Testament is currently as follows (in brackets, the equivalent in the Hebrew Bible, with some differences in content):

Pentateuch ( Torah )
Prophets ( Nevi'im )
Other books of poetry and writings called sapiential in Catholicism ( Ketuvim )
Deuterocanonical books , counted down the barrel at the Council of Trent but considered apocryphal by Protestants.
