Eve
Eve (in Hebrew : is the first female character in the Torah for Jews and Old Testament for Christians, the mother of mankind ( Genesis : 3-20). Allusions to the wife of Adam also appear in the Koran , it is named (Hawwa '). Eve means "Male Female"

Its name means "alive", but the absence in the name of the letter yod raises a serious problem of interpretation.
Eve was taken from a side of Adam's original androgynous (God created man in His own image, male and female ( Genesis 1:27)). According to some translations, it is not one side but a side (the word cried is polysemous). It is not a birth and the woman is the essence of man.
According to some Jewish mystical legends, she succeeded Lilith , which itself does not appear by name in the biblical text.
The story of Adam and Eve is narrated in the book of Genesis , the first book of the Bible. Eve was tempted by Nachash , Snake, who convinces her to eat the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Then she taste the forbidden fruit to Adam, that God had forbidden him formally. God then decided to expel Adam and Eve of Eden , and placed angels to guard the road leading to the tree of life, and made a couple of mortal beings. Most of it inflicted on Eve and all her female descendants punishment of children in pain and be eternally submissive to men. Adam, himself, will now be forced to fetch his food by the sweat of brow (Gen. 3:15-20).
In the tradition of Catholic and Orthodox, New Eve is a title given to Mary of Nazareth , because of its role in soteriology , with Jesus who is called the New Adam Eve in Islam Eve is mentioned several times in the Koran. His name is not mentioned, but it is designated as the wife of Adam. The Arabic name is Eve (Hawwa ') or Haoua or Hawa. The equivalent in Africa is Black or Hawa Awa. In the Qur'an, Eve is not responsible for the expulsion from the Garden of Eden. Satan (the serpent by Genesis ) satisfies both Adam and Eve to taste the fruit of knowledge. Eve does not the responsibility of the exile. Moreover, Eve was created from Adam's rib in the Muslim tradition. Hawwa 'gave birth to every birth to a boy and a girl and she gave birth to forty times. Over the centuries, many travelers cite the presence of a " tomb of Eve "in Jiddah. This archaeological site was sealed in 1975 by authorities anxious to prevent the place becoming a prayer site.
