El Badi Palace, located in Marrakech was built in the late sixteenth century by Sultan saadien Ahmed al-Mansur Dhahbi to celebrate the victory over the army Portuguese in 1578 in the Battle of Three Kings. The construction of this sumptuous palace lasted from 1578 to 1603. The richest materials were used to decorate parts of the 360 princely complex.

Today, there remains an immense esplanade carved from gardens planted with orange trees and surrounded by high walls. Indeed, in 1696 , Sultan Alawi Moulay Ismail took what was the richest in the palace to build the imperial city of Meknes.

The design of this jewel of Islamic art was influenced by the Alhambra in Granada.
