For the Catholic Church Roman, a Doctor of the Church is a theologian or a priest whose writings or teaching are regarded as having served the religion of an outstanding and whose life is regarded as exemplary in terms of requirements that it. All the Doctors of the Church were either canonized or officially considered holy to the oldest of them. Three women are recognized Doctors of the Church.
