Formation of the FDLP

In 1969 , a split occurs within the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), Palestinian movement of the extreme left. Popular Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) was created. The DFLP was led by secretary general trend Maoist , Nayef Hawatmeh , a veteran of the Arab Nationalist Movement. Nayef Hawatmeh that the PFLP was led by George Habash handled too much on military affairs, neglecting the political and ideological field.

The DFLP is rapidly gaining the reputation of the Palestinian organization the most intellectual, to explain the situation in the Middle East , the movement has largely used the Marxist-Leninist.

Officially, the purpose of the FDLP is the creation of a democratic Palestinian state, where Arabs and Jews live together in peace, in a state without social classes , without oppression, a state that would allow Jews and Arabs to develop their culture National.
