The declaration of May 14, 1948 is the official announcement of the birth of a state Jewish , called State of Israel (Medinat Israel in Hebrew ) on the territory of British Mandate Palestine designated by the Partition Plan of Palestine in 1947. She was delivered by David Ben Gurion , chairman of the Jewish Agency , which became the first Prime Minister of the country. In the absence of incorporation, the declaration is currently atop the hierarchy of Israel.
