Damascus
The Damascus Document is the name given to the texts of Qumran Scrolls , found in caves 4, 5 and 6 of Qumran (4Q265-73 references, 5Q12 and 6Q15).
Written in Hebrew on the leather and papyrus , it deals with the persecution of members of the community of Essenes driven from Jerusalem to the "Land of Damascus" in the first century BC. AD
Two manuscript censuses of the tenth and twelfth centuries were known since the discovery in 1896 of the Genizah in a room adjacent to the Ben Ezra synagogue in Fustat in Old Cairo.
