Damascus

The Damascus Document is the name given to the texts of Qumran Scrolls , found in caves 4, 5 and 6 of Qumran (4Q265-73 references, 5Q12 and 6Q15).

Written in Hebrew on the leather and papyrus , it deals with the persecution of members of the community of Essenes driven from Jerusalem to the "Land of Damascus" in the first century BC. AD

Two manuscript censuses ^of the tenth and ^twelfth centuries were known since the discovery in 1896 of the Genizah in a room adjacent to the Ben Ezra synagogue in Fustat in Old Cairo.
