The term refers to the snakes of the rattlesnake genus of the subfamily of Crotalinae. It's often called, in common parlance as "rattlesnake" because of his buzzer also called cascabel , which is a blend of large scales (rings) attached imperfectly present in all species of the genus Crotalus, except in Crotalus catalinensis. Thus, the rattlesnake can scare intruders by shaking its tail. He can not hear himself its sound: Like all snakes, he is deaf. The "bell" wins a ring at each molt. He is considered one of the most dangerous snakes in the world because it can be very poisonous.
All species of this genus are very venomous , anyone bitten should enjoy in the shortest possible time an injection of specific antiserum. They are found in North America (the United States and especially in Mexico ) and Central America.
This is copying the colors of flowers, leaves or fruit that small Central American rattlesnake hide their prey as their enemies.
Snake is what is used on the Gadsden flag.
