The Franciscan monastery Forcalquier is a former convent in the French town of Forcalquier , dating from the Middle Ages. His remains have since September 12, 1968 included in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments History The Franciscan monastery was built in the thirteenth century, around 1236 , the site of a former priory Benedictine . It is one of the first foundations Franciscan in Provence. It was built in a home given by Raymond Berenger V of Provence , Count of Forcalquier. The monastery was damaged during the wars of religion , poorly maintained thereafter, it dwindled, and only two religious at the French Revolution. In 1791 , deserted by the monks, he was sold as national property and converted to agricultural use. Become property of the municipality, it is restored from 1963. The facade of the church is located under the Post building .
