This council of Valence ( Drme ), said on 1 council of Valencia, held July 12 374 in the church of Saint-Jean .
The council decides on penance and admission orders. By his gun No. 1, it prohibited to order the clerks Digame, widowed and remarried, or married to a woman who has been married .
Signatories of the council
Louis Duchesne in his Fasti episcopal book of ancient Gaul, says the participants in this council . He cites Florentius ( Vienna ), Aemilianus ( Valencia ), Eumerius ( Nantes ?) Artemius, Evodius, Antherius, Rhodanius, Chretus, Noeterius, Urbanus, Palus, Simplicius, Justus ( Lyon ?) Eortius ( Orleans ?) Britto ( Trier), Concordius ( Arles ), Urbanus, Nicetius, Vincentius. The addresses of two letters emanating from the council give more: Foegadius ( Agen ), Constantius, Felix, a total of 22 bishops. Note, however, the presence of two Urbanus.
