Conventual
The Friars Minor Conventual (OFMConv.) are one of the three branches of the first men's Order of the Franciscan family of Pontifical Right. In Francophone regions, they are also called Cordeliers , Anglophones Grey Friars, in germanophones Minoriten.

The Friars Minor Conventual are wearing a black tunic with hood (rather long). In mission countries, they often recover the traditional dress gray.
They are the guardians (confirmed by the Lateran Pacts ) of the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi.
Their International University is the theological faculty of St. Bonaventure in Rome. The General Curia in Rome is located in the convent of the Holy Twelve Apostles.
The order as at 1 January 2005, 4,639 religious (including 14 bishops, 2,914 priests, deacons and 10) grouped in 654 houses in 36 provinces.
Conventual Franciscans are present in 60 different countries: 5 in Africa, 17 in America, 8 in Asia, 29 in Europe (plus Australia). The Minister General (ie Superior) Conventuals is Fr Marco Tasca, an Italian national.
In France, Conventual, revenues in 1949, are a dozen religious, whose average age is rather young: they are present at Cholet (Convent of St. Francis) at Lourdes (Mission of the Immaculate), to Narbonne (Convent of St. Bonaventure) and Tarbes (Convent of St. Anthony). Grouped in the Custody of France, houses are attached to the Italian province of Conventual of Padua.
