The first Constitution of Morocco date of 1962. When the country regained independence, the sovereign, Mohammed V labored for the establishment of political and constitutional institutions. This was originally the creation of the National Advisory Council and the 15 November 1959 , the enactment of Dahir, the legislation governing public freedoms and freedom of expression. It then in 1960 that the Constitutional Council was created, then the draft Constitution of 18 November 1962 , and ratified by referendum on 7 December 1962 and promulgated on December 14.
Since then, the Kingdom has seen 8 new constitutional referendum on 24 July 1970 , on 1 March 1972 , on 23 May 1980 , on 30 May 1980 , on 31 August 1984 , on 1 December 1989 , on 4 September 1992 and 13 September 1996.
