Constantine II (born August 7 314 in Arles , d. 340 ) is the son of Emperor Constantine I , who proclaimed Caesar in 317 , he became Roman emperor from 337 to 340.

Biography

In 332 , he led a victorious military expedition against the Goths.

In 335 , his father gives responsibilities to his three son, Constantine, Constantius and Constant and his two nephews Dalmatius and Hannibalien.

In 337 , the death of the Emperor Constantine , his son massacred his nephews and share the empire. On 9 September 337 , Constantine II was declared Augustus by the Senate , with his brothers Constantine II and I. Constant.

Constantine II provinces of Britain , of Gaul and Hispania , Constantius II , the provinces of Asia , to East of Bridge and Thrace and I. Constant , those of Italy , of Africa , of Pannonia , of Dacia and Macedonia.

Constantine II and Constant can not agree. Wanting to take the Italian to Constant , Constantine II was killed in April 340 at the battle of Aquileia. Its provinces pass Constant.
