The International Conference of Civil Society in Support of the Palestinian people registered for the rights of Palestinians under the auspices of the This committee was established by resolution 3376 of the UN General Assembly on 10 November 1975, with the task of recommending a program of implementation, designed to enable the Palestinian people to exercise its inalienable rights recognized by the Resolution 3236 of November 22, 1974.
Papa Louis Fall and Paul Badji chaired the Committee.

Conference
In support of the Palestinian People, New York, 23 and 24 September 2002
International Conference of Civil Society in Support of Palestinian People held at UN Headquarters in New York in accordance with resolutions 57/107 and 57/108 of the General Assembly, dated December 3, 2002 :
- "The president said that the 400 participants at this Conference, as diverse as they are (and Israeli Palestinian groups, Christian organizations, Jewish and Arabic among others), all had agreed that the Israeli occupation that began in June 1967, was to end. The NGO Declaration adopted by the States participating in the Conference is a model of clarity and candor, he said, that the Israeli occupation that requires the international community assumes its responsibility "

In support of the Palestinian People, New York, 4 and 5 September 2003
4 and 5 September 2003, at the headquarters of the Organization of the United Nations in New York, the International Conference of the Division for Palestinian Rights with the theme "End the occupation".
Twenty-one speakers gave presentations and four of them, including two Israelis, conjured the boycott or the struggle against apartheid.
Avia Pasternak, representative of Ta'ayush , Israeli organization based in Tel Aviv , said he supported a boycott , at the international level, companies with production facilities in the settlements.
Jeff Halper, Coordinator of Israeli Committee against house demolitions, at the third plenary meeting, whose theme is "The international community, civil society and the political process aimed at ending the occupation"
calls for "a common call for the mobilization of an international campaign that would reach the magnitude and effectiveness of the campaign against apartheid in South Africa "
The fourth plenary meeting, whose theme is "The initiatives taken by civil society to end the occupation," see Response legitimizing European sanctions.
- After intervention by Gretta Duisenberg, President of the organization Stop the Occupation (Amsterdam), which stated that "in his opinion the EU had a unique opportunity to formulate a unified foreign policy, and if necessary to impose sanctions, for example to suspend the Association Treaty between Israel and the European Union. " ;
Pierre Galand , Senator in the Belgian Parliament, spoke of NGO demands for a boycott of Israeli fruit and made the connection with the struggle against apartheid to legitimize the adoption of sanctions.
- "The NGOs called for the boycott of fruit from Israel. (...) Mr. Galand concluded his remarks by saying that NGOs could work in cooperation with peace organizations in Israel, even on the subject of sanctions, to ensure that the public knows well that when had fought against apartheid, had been adopted sanctions against the regime in the United States and Europe. These sanctions would force Israel to respect international law and would lead to a solution to the conflict and lasting peace in the Middle East. "
350 representatives from 140 civil society organizations attended the conference which was attended by representatives of 64 Governments, Palestine, 3 intergovernmental organizations and 10 UN agencies .

In support of peace in the Middle East, Paris, 12 and 13 July 2005
International Conference of Civil Society in support of peace in the Middle East, meeting at UNESCO. It is unanimously supported the boycott, divestment and sanctions.
In opening session, Hind Khoury , Minister of State of the Palestinian Authority, recalled the opinion of the International Court of Justice on the Wall of Palestine and
- "Called one all the Civil Society Institutions to promote nonviolent action Such as Morally responsible investment and boycotts in order to urge Israel's Compliance With icts international obligations. "
Phyllis Bennis followed suit to promote the campaign BDS
In first meeting, Hind Khoury reiterated his point of view of the ICJ; followed Gabi Baramki , President Of The Palestinian Council for Justice and Peace, Ramallah, who showed what the campaign BDS :
- "The campaign HAD Been Initiated By The Palestinian Campaign for Academic and Cultural Boycott The of Israel (PACBI) to boycott Israeli institutions and now WAS Spreading to Other Areas, have HAD Happened" during the apartheid regime in South Africa. Mr. Baramki Said That The Campaign Should Be Supported by international NGOs and, Eventually, by Their Governments, to force Israel to End the occupation and Abide by United Nations resolutions. "
Second meeting, is was the turn of Pierre Galand and Na'eem Jeenah. In closing, Phyllis Bennis , Somaia Barghouti , Hind Khoury , and Ravan AG Farhadi, Vice-Chairman of the Committee, decide on the implementation of the Action Plan BDS.
Finally, the action plan was adopted unanimously a declaration of faith in the campaign boycott, divestment and sanctions .

"As for civil society, we are committed to take the following steps:
- Expand our global campaign to boycott, divestment and sanctions to the even larger areas of our countries and regions, based on the formation of a movement of nonviolent opposition to Israeli apartheid and occupation and launch such an urgent campaign to end sanctions against the democratically elected Palestinian Authority. "

In 2003 had attended the Committee meetings as observers and the representatives of the following organizations: Algeria, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, China, Egypt, UAE, Ecuador, Iraq, Libyan Arab Jamahiriya, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon , Morocco, Mauritania, Nicaragua, Niger, Qatar, Syrian Arab Republic, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Yemen, League of Arab States, Organization of the Islamic Conference, Palestine and the African Union.
