Central College of Jehovah's Witnesses is the governing body (in English, of the religious movement made up of older male followers who monitor all activities at the international level. This group is sometimes inaccurately the Watchtower Society, but it is more accurately the legal instrument of Jehovah's Witnesses used by the Central College.
Summary |
The Bible Students began to organize the Company in 1881 with William Henry Conley as the first president, while Charles Taze Russell was the secretary-treasurer. The company was registered in Pennsylvania on 15 December 1884 under the name of Zion's Watch Tower Tract, this time with Russell as president.
Under current doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses, these directors have served as a governing body that oversaw the preaching worldwide . As of 1971 , the governing body has understood the board of directors of the Watchtower Society of Pennsylvania , composed of seven men, and the agenda of the governing body was established by the President of the Watchtower Society , which was also a member. This entity ruling was extended by Nathan Homer Knorr to include other members of the Society in 1971 and membership has reached eleven men. That year, the chair of the group began to rotate annually , .
Since 1 January1976 , all activities of the Watchtower Society and the congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide have been made under the supervision of the governing body , which formed six committees to oversee the various administrative requirements of global activities of the organization. Before that date, almost all administrative Responsibilities were the responsibility of the president.
Members of the Central College continued to include the directors of the Watchtower Society until the year 2000. Since that time, Central College has delegated the responsibility of the directors of various companies that are used by Jehovah's Witnesses members outside the board. Therefore, the current president of the Watchtower Society , Don Alden Adams, is not a member of Central College.
The number of members of the Central College has varied over time. Early in its existence, seven members composed it, and that number has reached eighteen in the late 1970s and more recently was twelve. In April 2007 , there were nine members. J. Barr and T. Jaracz are the only members who were still used in Central College before 1994.

Functions
College Central is the administrative director and with its power, and since 1975 , he became the supreme authority of the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses. It promulgates the official understanding of the Bible 's religious movement for its members and interested individuals, and clarifies his lessons through his publications in many languages and meetings in many countries, as required. It also appoints members to important positions in the organization. He can be contacted by local congregations or local leaders for advice. The members of the Central College also check everything that is written in the literature of the organization before publishing. In general, it demonstrates a conservative mindset and does not often change significantly upon the doctrines or administer the organization .
This College Central acts as a representative of the class of " faithful and discreet slave "mentioned by Jesus Christ in the Gospel according to Matthew 24:45, which has the responsibility to give spiritual direction and leadership to The work of proclaiming the 'gospel of the Kingdom of God '. While he delegates certain responsibilities or duties to subordinate committees of its own members or committees of other servants or instruments such as corporate and statutory agencies, it always takes the head of the operation of the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses , guaranteeing the unity thereof. The governing body gives direction to congregations around the world by publications such as magazines The Watchtower and Awake! newsletter, The Ministry of the Kingdom, and other publications describing the steps in organizing , and various letters responding to all requests and those of individual congregations. In addition, the passbook Dwelling together in unity has been published to provide basic guidelines for the family of Bethel Missionary counsel and the libretto booklet, which outlines the basic provisions for missionaries serving throughout the world under the leadership of the College Central.
How faithful Jehovah's Witnesses believe that college is similar to Central perspectives on how Catholics to their Church . They believe that their organization made the land part of Jehovah's organization and refers to her as their 'mother' .

The number of elders composing this governing body has changed over time, in addition, it was not a president permanently: the role of president is sent every year to the next member in alphabetical order.
