Coelesyria
The Coelesyria (in Greek : ), that is to say, "Hollow Syria" is a region of southern Syria disputed ancient during the Syrian wars between the Seleucid dynasty and that of Ptolemies , since the partition after the battle of Ipsos in 301 BC. AD
Strictly speaking, the Coelesyria corresponds to the current Bekaa Valley in Lebanon , but this term is often used in a conventional manner, to designate the entire area from Byblos (Lebanon) on the northern border of Egypt Ptolemaic including Judea. Over time the term Coelesyria however receives different meanings. Thus, under the Roman Empire at the time of Severus , the Roman province of Syria , who took the name Coele Syria, is centered around Antioch in the north, the region of Tyre in the south part of the province of Syria-Phoenicia.
