The churches of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is primarily a place of Sunday worship, but also many social activities on weekdays and are open to the public.

A church has many rooms: a hall of worship which can accommodate 200 to 300 people, also called chapel used for worship on Sundays. The word 'chapel' is also sometimes used to describe the entire building. The church also includes classrooms, offices, baptismal font, a kitchen and in many cases, a cultural hall that can hold a stage for theatrical and musical productions with a basketball court inside a doubled dance floor or dining room, among other uses.
It lacks the cross, statues or icons of any kind.
Usage
In addition to the regular Sunday meetings (meeting sacrament , Sunday School , Primary , Relief Society , Priesthood , Young Men, Young Women ), additional meetings are often held in churches. Auxiliary leaders can schedule meetings and training sessions. The ward or branch can organize social activities, including dances, dinners, parties and musical presentations. The organization of the Young Men and Young Women of the Church meet once a week at church, where young people participate in activities, scouting , and action on the 'Duty to God' or personal growth ; also other common activities such as basketball , conference history of the family, the young adult conference, dances and various personal improvement activities. The Church members also can book the building for weddings and receptions, and funerals.
