Chichester Psalms is a work for chorus mixed solo child or cons-tenor and orchestra , the composer's American Leonard Bernstein written in 1965 on the Book of Psalms in the Hebrew Bible.

Summary

History

This piece was commissioned by the Rev. Walter Bernstein Hussey, Dean of Chichester Cathedral in Sussex in England for the festival of Chichester 1965. His first was given on 15 July 1965 in New York by the New York Philharmonic and the Camerata Singers, conducted by the composer. A version for male choir alone was given on 31 July at the Chichester Festival Structure
