Charlton Heston (whose real name was John Charles Carter) is an actor , director and screenwriter American born on 4 October 1923 in Evanston , in the Illinois , and died on 5 April 2008 in Beverly Hills.
Become a legend of cinema after his performance in Ben Hur , for which he will get the Oscar for best actor, he is a symbol of American cinema of the 1960s. First heroes bigger than life, he associated his name with the biggest Hollywood blockbusters such as The Ten Commandments , El Cid or The 55 Days at Peking , before distinguishing themselves in films whose expectations are more known Planet of the Apes , The Omega Man and Soylent Green. There was also a pioneer of disaster film with 747 in peril and Earthquake. Charlton Heston was born in 1923 in Evanston , just north of Chicago in the Illinois. His family ancestry is English and Scottish , there was also a member of Clan Fraser. Illness and Death
In 1998 he was diagnosed with cancer of the prostate , but Charlton Heston will experience a remission after a few sessions of radiotherapy. In August 2002 , he revealed to the general public that is suffering from Alzheimer's disease . In 2005 , rumors have reported worsening of the disease, but these will never be confirmed by the family. In 2006 , the progression of the disease to his family fears that his days are numbered. He died on 5 April 2008 , at his home in Beverly Hills , with his wife Lydia , at the age of 84.
