Charlton Heston (whose real name was John Charles Carter) is an actor , director and screenwriter American born on 4 October 1923 in Evanston , in the Illinois , and died on 5 April 2008 in Beverly Hills.

Become a legend of cinema after his performance in Ben Hur , for which he will get the Oscar for best actor, he is a symbol of American cinema of the 1960s. First heroes bigger than life, he associated his name with the biggest Hollywood blockbusters such as The Ten Commandments , El Cid or The 55 Days at Peking , before distinguishing themselves in films whose expectations are more known Planet of the Apes , The Omega Man and Soylent Green.
