Reviews
Collusion with the MILS
The period where Patricia Vivien played an important role in BTMM, while MILS was chaired by Alain Vivien was heavily criticized , not only for problems within the association but also for possible collusion between the association inteministerielle and mission.
The establishment of the list of sects
The association, through its information on cults, published in 1998 a dictionary of sects which has been criticized on the principle as to the content.
On the one hand it is alleged that an association of individuals to develop lists that are then taken as official by the state.
On the other hand, Archbishop Jean Vernette , national secretary of the French episcopate to the study of cults and himself a member of CSCM since its inception, stressed the ambiguity of certain reservations: "In tiny print it is stated on page 28 that certain religious beliefs and philosophies have been mentioned because, "even non-sectarian in themselves, they are essential to the understanding of sectarian drift that arises from them." (...) But no one will read these tiny notation ambiguous. The Dictionary will be received by everyone as it is defined: a comprehensive dictionary, strictly and officially informed, "sects" in France "
