Definitions and Tracking
The dialects of Central Morocco is divided into two groups: the northern and southern group. The so-called dialects of the north had been studied by a variety of researchers over the last century. These studies have led, among other things, the Tamazight-French dictionary Miloud Taif in his book Tamazight-French dictionary (dialects of Central Morocco). The southern dialects have been studied by Ali in his book Amaniss Tamazight-French dictionary (dialects of Central Morocco).
The languages studied in the latter dictionary extend over a large area and have never been a major study. Despite the distances, they are close to each other and differ only on points of detail and a phonological lexicon, which, if seen as complementary, not present major difficulties of communication. For example, in the South, d. t is contrary to the North. This justifies the size of the chapter on the letter d.
The languages that were studied occupy a vast geographical will of the High Atlas to the Algerian border. It is difficult to define precisely the boundaries even more than it resembles dialects of the North Central Morocco in the sense that native South understandable dialects of the North and vice versa. We try to gather here, as far as possible, the words of the dialects used in those regions.
