In Belgium , the Centre for equal opportunities and fight against racism is an autonomous public service from the law of February 15, 1993, born of political will of Parliament and the Belgian Federal Government.

The Centre suggests and provides advice and recommendations to governments:
- suggests that legislative change: 1981 law against racism, (Loi Philippe Moureaux , law against discrimination, advises, following an action research, eg in mediation intercultural hospital, put forward proposals relating the acquisition of nationality Belgian and voting , monitors the implementation of the decree on "positive discrimination" in education, support of processes leading to the recruitment of persons of foreign origin in services of police or other public services
The center provides several types of training to a diverse audience to have tools and information in the fight against all forms of discrimination.
