Celestial Marriage

Temple Marriage

In the theology of Mormonism ( Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ), the basic unit is the family. Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and is essential to eternal plan of God for the salvation of his children.

The marriage of heaven, or eternal marriage is a marriage made under the law of the Gospel and the authority of the "holy priesthood". An officer of the temple (sealer) to declare alliances intended to be valid for the life time and eternity.

Men and women so united in marriage in the temple could remain husband and wife for all eternity if they are faithful to their covenants.

Summary

Life in marriage

  • Principle of equality: the man and woman are partners in the management of home and family with knowledge and full participation in all decisions relating thereto.
  • Family Night : Each week, normally on Monday evening, the whole family is together for joint activities
  • Family Council : All members of the family, parents and children gather in the board in which common issues like the family budget, schedule of activities, career goals, work assignments, acquisition of property, etc., are discussed.

Eternal Life

In this doctrine, which is called celestial glory there are three degrees; to access the higher man must enter the new and everlasting covenant of marriage. By orders of the priesthood and a just life, it is possible to live eternally with the family in the presence of God. The sky is the continuation of the eternal home.
