The Catholic Institute of Lyons, or Catholic University of Lyon History The institution was founded in 1877 , the center of the city of Lyon. It is the initiative of a group of lay Catholics, after the promulgation of the Law of 12 July 1875 on freedom of higher education. The Catholic University of Lyon is managed by the Association of the founders and protectors of the Catholic Institute of Lyons recognized public utility in 1942. It is chaired by General Gilles Barrie. Since 2005, the property is located on 2 sites in the central city of Lyon. The institute has five faculties: Organization representing the four schools of engineering associated with the Catholic University of Lyon: More than 210,000 books and 2,000 periodicals in philosophy, history, humanities, natural sciences and theology. Center for Documentary Resources specializes in management, commerce, management, law, languages, science of the family, human rights and local development. The library belongs to the network SUDOC (Service universitaire de documentation) which connects to 3000 libraries in France. Composition
