The Catholic Action for Children (CAC), formerly called the association "Hearts Brave and valiant souls of France" founded by Father Gaston Courtois and Jean Pihan (priest of the Congregation of the Sons of Charity ), is a Christian movement of popular education in French for children aged 6 to 15.
It is a recognized association of popular education by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Organization
The movement is organized in clubs ACE. These are small groups of children (supervised by a responsible adult) and grouped by age:
- Perlin clubs welcome children from 6 to 8 years;
- Fripounet clubs welcome children 8 to 11 years;
- Triolo clubs catering for children from 11 to 13 years;
- Top'ado clubs catering for children aged 13 to 15 years.
Day Game
Catholic Action for Children has initiated since 1990 a day " celebration of the game (with support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports ). Since 2001, this festival is conducted by a group of associations of which the ACE. The game is indeed a prominent place in the teaching and practice of clubs ACE.
National Day
Since 2005, Catholic Action for Children is celebrating its national day. Intended to testify and to present the movement, it takes place annually on the first Sunday of Advent. Nearly 500 events are held across France.
Some national days were busy around a theme:
- 2007: Launch of 70th Anniversary
- 2008: "The kids tell you THANK YOU!" the end of the 70th anniversary celebrations
- 2009: "We have so much to tell you" for the 20 years of children's rights (right of expression)
International
Internationally, the Catholic Action for Children has given birth to IMAC (International Movement of Apostolate of Children)
Movement intermilieu
ACE is a movement intermilieu and open to all children. She joined the rural areas (MRJC, CMR ,...), independent media (AIT, JIC, JICF ,...) and the working classes with the "Mission Workers" (COA, JOC, PO ,...).
History
- In the year 1920 in France, the ' patronage 'involve many Catholic children of the working classes. The movement is gaining momentum across the country, but no real national coordination.
- 8 December 1929 : creation of the newspaper Brave Hearts , with the comic book The Adventures of Tintin by Herg by Gaston Courtois and Jean Pihan (priests Sons of Charity). Around this paper, form clusters of children.
- 1931 : first gathering of players Brave Hearts in Paris. Around common values, a movement seems to take shape.
- Easter 1936 : Bishops officially request the formation around the newspaper "Brave Hearts" a great movement of Christian children.
- 8 December 1938 : creation of the newspaper brave souls. The movement is "brave hearts and brave souls."
- November 1945 : publication of Fripounet and Marisette , journal for boys and girls aged 8 to 12 years (later simply Fripounet 1969)
- 1953 at Pontoise: National Gathering of "Brave Hearts".
- October 1956 : publication of Perlin and Pinpin , for children ages 6 to 8.
- 1956 : Movement CV-AV changes its name to the Catholic Action for Children.
- 1966 : the movement that is becoming in recent years gives rise to the IMAC
- 1972 : Opening of movement for all children, whether Christian or not
- 1975 : CAC becomes the Catholic Action for Children.
- 1989 : Children of the ACE challenge to the French government 80 000 signatures in favor of ratifying the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
- 1990 : ACE launched the major national holiday of the Game
- 27 November 2005 : ACE is holding its first national day.
- In 2008 , the CAC celebrates 70 years.
Themes of the year
Each year, ACE clubs live around an annual theme. They learn through games and try to move the company into action. Since 2006, it is the children who chose the theme: 20 delegates gather in Paris to give their opinion to the Council for Children.
Some of the themes of years:
- 2004-2005: "Ojectives Earth calls up the planet! "
- 2005-2006: "Give price for life"
- 2006-2007: "It is not to fight, dare to cultivate peace! "
- 2007-2009: "We need to play, to dream, to speak up! "
- 2009-2011: "You're not like me, so what! "
