Catherine Hardwicke is a filmmaker , writer and chief designer American born in 1955 in Cameron ( Texas , USA ).

Biography

Graduated in Architecture from the University of Texas of Austin , she studied film and television at the UCLA and his first steps in Hollywood as chief designer. He is the scenery of some twenty films, including Vanilla Sky , The Revenge of Jesse Lee , The Newton Boys , Mad City , Antitrust , Tank Girl , Suburbia , two days in Los Angeles , Laurel Canyon , Tombstone and The Kings desert.

In 2003 , she embarked on the production and writing with his movie Thirteen for which she received the same year the prestigious Director's Award at the Sundance Film Festival. The Lords of Dogtown (Lords of Dogtown), his second film, was released in 2005.

In 2006 , she directed The Nativity.

She realizes in 2008 Twilight, Chapter I: Fascination , filmography adaptation of the bestselling Twilight written by Stephenie Meyer.

In 2010 , she will make a film based on the book by Gayle Forman: If I stay (If I stay).

In 2011 , she will adapt the tale of Little Red Riding Hood film. It will be called The Girl with the Red Riding Hood who is scheduled for 2012 Indoor United States. The film will be similar to the saga Twilight.
