Geography Casale Monferrato is located along the Po in a plain at the foot of the hills of Monferrato.
History
The Bishop of Asti , San Evasio , Christianized the small village of Casal, who was called then Casale di Sant'Evasio, and began to be mentioned in the archives of the chapter in the year 988.

Monuments and Heritage
Synagogue of Casale Monferrato (Piedmont) - Interior. Prayer room used since 1599. Restored in 1968, recovering the original colors (see Annie Sacerdoti, Guida all'Italia ebraica, Venezia 2003).
Casale Monferrato has one of the largest among the synagogues Baroque in Piedmont.
